Can't be the Same Again
03:30
|
|||
Can’t be the same again
You were born, you were raised, constantly amazed
Had a permanent glint in your eye
All the beauty in the world was rising to observe and you drank it up like wine
No you can’t be the same again
No you can’t be the same again
You can keep getting up, when the bombing stops
But you won’t be the same again
You marched in line to the school bells chime
And it you watched it all fade away
Learning to be, how another man sees
Until you couldn’t see nothing at all
No you can’t be the same again
No you can’t be the same again
You can keep getting up, after the deluge stops
But you cant be the same again
You stood and you sneered at the tax mans fear
Learnt to break all those rules you leant to make
Standing tall, watching others fall, until there was no where safe at all
No you cant be the same again
You wont be the same again
You can keep getting up until the penny drops
That you wont be the same again
Now you’ve stopped feeding off, all the dross has dropped
And your taste is bitter and shot
You’re trying to solve what you couldn’t resolve, all those wasted years of youth
No you cant be the same again
No you wont be the same man again
All that covering up, won’t amount too much
And you cant be the same again

Magic
04:07
|
|||
All your life you’ve been wondering,
Where the magic has been
Filled your cup, still didn’t fill you up
So you kept it on running
Is there nothing real, In your world you can feel
Keep shining your light, on a fools paradise
Quick to judge, slow to learn
Never waiting for your turn
Put your faith, in what your told
But will it save you, that weight of gold
Is there nothing real, In your world you can feel
Keep shining your light to a fools paradise
All those pretty things you hang on to
All those pictures on your wall, looking back at you
Do they help you sleep at night Keep your candle burning bright
Give you peace, give you worth in your life
Is there nothing real, In your world you can feel
Turn out the lights there’s no one home tonight.
All your life you been wondering,
Where the magic has been

Drive
03:47
|
|||
Sometimes you just wanna drive
Feel the breeze inside
Feel what it’s like to be alive
Wave your thoughts goodbye
Just you and the open sky
No reasons no questions why
Old Hank was right all along
You can’t get out of this world alive
And you want to be free
Running on the breeze
Flying over canyons
Like Thelma and Louise
Heart in your hands
Wings on your wheels
Sometimes you need to drive
There are no chains that bind
Like the thoughts that judge your mind
Thoughts wont keep you alive
Yeah sometimes you just need to drive
Your only plan of attack,
Is your aint ever coming back.
Tonight your gonna drive

Perfect Storm
04:18
|
|||
Gotta whole lotta trouble, locked inside
Begging for forgiveness and a place to hide
Looking for a way out and something to feed
Looking for a reason, to believe
Too much of nothing, makes a heart bleed
Like a weathered flower, gone to seed
Promise of something, is what I need
Gotta remember living again before I leave
You and I were the perfect storm
One cloud drowning the other torn
Drifting together, floating free
I was your devil, you my deep blue sea
There’s nothing like the desert, under a big blue sky
Dust on the wind, blowing high
Gonna let the past walk on by
Banish those regrets before I die
You and I were, the perfect storm
One cloud damaged the other torn
Joining forces in a sea of calm
Burning madly in our own cyclone
Ca la vie tomorrow
Ca la vie all control
You know there’s nothing like the desert, under a deep blue sky
No sound louder, than solitude
Roaring louder than a raging sea
Falling deeper, than mystery
Leaving scars too raw to bleed
You and I were the perfect storm
Clouds now passing into the sun
Swirling blindly, forever free
Another cyclone, blown out to sea..
Ca la vie tomorrow
Ca la vie all control
You know there’s nothing like the desert, under a deep blue sky

Holy Water
04:43
|
|||
You can spend a whole life running, trying to be free
But your lying dead in the water, watching the water flowing free
Holy water hold me, rock my slowly in your gentle stream
Uncover the beauty of the lies within, all that murky water that’s been rotting
Holly water fill my blood, may your rivers always run, inside of me….
And you wake every morning, trying to find a way
You can hear destiny calling, sometimes faith needs more belief
Holy water hold me, rock my slowly in your gentle stream
Uncover the beauty of the lies within, all that murky water that’s been rotting
Holly water fill my blood, may your rivers always run, inside of me….
Wash over me, take my eyes, make them see
Watch over me,
Holy water hold me, rock my slowly in your gentle stream
Uncover the beauty of the lies within, all that murky water that’s been rotting
Holly water fill my blood, may your rivers always run, inside of me….

Gun Your Dreams Down
03:52
|
|||
There’s a house by the side of the road
A moon shining brightly and I wonder if your home
Or still running those dreams down
Did you make that trip up north, find a home for your heart
Or are you still sleeping rough, tearing those demons apart
Let the past run from your heart, let go of the fight
Gun your dreams down, get them in your site
Gun your dreams down, hold that trigger tight
Lay down your arms and gun your dreams down
Everything will change when your gun your dreams down,
When did it start, was it the breaking of your heart
The faded promises, token valentines
The ones who never phoned, kept your porch light on
Gun your dreams down, get them in your site
Gun your dreams down, hold that trigger tight
Nothing will be the same when your gun your dreams down,
You could never hold the space, between your head and your heart
Trying to make sense between the light and the dark
Let the past run from your heart, let go of the fight
Gun your dreams down, get them in your site
Gun your dreams down, hold that trigger tight
Nothing will be the same when your gun your dreams down,
There’s a house by the side of the road
A moon shining brightly and I wonder if your home
And I wonder if you would still know me.

Gippsland Hills
05:43
|
|||
Out where the wind blows
And the rain falls like snow,
Raining down on those hills, leaving the greenest grass of home
There is a spirit out there, a dour working air
A belief, a knowing, in just what they’ve got
Like a young girl so pretty she doesn’t need to flirt a lot
Don’t make a sound, just hear the rain falling down banging on this old tin shed
The wind it whistles long, long after the birds have flown, back to the northern sky
And these green Gippsland hills, use to sway with trees, now they just stand in the breeze.
Where the trains don’t run no more
To the southern shore
And the city folk can’t see the life in this great southern sky
And the locals don’t care, don’t even blink an eye
And don’t make a sound, just hear the rain falling down banging this old tin shed
The wind it whistles long, long after the birds have flown, back to the northern sky
And these green Gippsland hills, use to sway with trees, now they just dance in the breeze.
See the dairy cattle roam, all over that soggy ground, till the hounds head em home
Take comfort in that sound, rain coming down, let the cycle of life, bleed into your veins
Yes those green Gippsland hills use to sway with trees, now they just dance in the breeze.
A working life aint easy, trying to tame a land, and your boss is busy ruling from the sky
As you watch another day dying in a blood sky lining,
As the hand that feeds you waves goodbye
And don’t make a sound, just hear the rain falling down banging this old tin shed
The wind it whistles long, long after the birds have flown, back to the northern sky
And these green Gippsland hills, use to sway with trees, now they just dance in the breeze

And I hope you can change your mind
Cause Ive tried everything
Walked in the steps of monks
Gave my thoughts away
But there’s nothing I could do
To save me from you
So while do I feel
Like a homeless refugee
Without half their integrity
If only I could make you see
Just a small part of me
But you have got to use to seeing
Only what you couldn’t see
But I could never lay blame on someone who believed so much in
me
And I wanna learn piano,
To augment all these chords
That are choking up my bloodstream
And seeping through these pores
Refrain
I can only wish you would change your mind
Cause I have wasted all of mine
Just trying to make you again see me

Music is my Healer
03:50
|
|||
I can’t think of a time, when songs were not around
Lying in my mother arms, sneaking in my sisters room
The radio it filled my world, took me to another
Turntable gave me the chance to leave, never to return
Music is my healer, been healing me all my life
When I was cowering in the darkness, hearing my mother and father fight
Now I’ve never needed more healing, than my soul needs tonight…
Let music be my healer, and keep this heart alive
I couldn’t watch you wave goodbye as I drove from your house
Couldn’t play any song along, that long journey home
Rain fell hard in front of me, mist hung at my door
Even my guitar felt like a stranger to me
Changes come and soon turn into plans, But I don’t plan no more
I use to ride with the bumps, Learnt to cover up my pain
Now I let my soul be free and decide who it needs to be

Veil
03:04
|
|||
Take this veil from me, tonight I'm wearing a halo
Wash my senses free, let all bygones be
Sometimes you've gotta find a little faith in the world
If you want to walk free
Give me back my hunger, let me see all the things I once believed
And I'll give you back all this cynicism, that age has buried inside of me
Forgive all this guilt and pleasure, all the times I should have given and not received
And give me back all that lost love, time took away from me
